Duration & Entry Requirements

  • Course Duration: Three full days, with classes running from 9 am to 6 pm.
  • Entry Requirements:
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Must have strong skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to communicate effectively.

Assessment

The CCTV Operator Course includes both multiple-choice exams and practical assessments:

  • Exams: Learners must achieve at least 70% in both units.
  • Practical Assessment: Lasts about 20 minutes per learner and is visually recorded.

Certification

Upon completion, learners receive a Highfield Award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) in the Private Security Industry (Scotland) at SCQF Level 6. This SIA-recognized qualification allows candidates to apply for an SIA CCTV Operator License, qualifying them to work as CCTV Operators across the UK.
